THERMOBARIC MUNITIONS

Thermobaric explosives are explosive mixtures designed to explode in a brief, but intense fireball that produces a high pressure shock wave. The effects are not unlike a fuel-air explosive (FAE).

Game Effects
Thermobaric warheads are quite small, often being contained in modified RPG warheads and unguided rockets. As for FAE explosions, thermobaric explosives create an explosion in which the Damage Code is constant. The blast radius is equal to their Rating x 2 in meters, with a Damage Code of (Rating)D throughout. Beyond this radius the Power is reduced by -2 per meter. Impact armor provides no protection unless it is environmentally sealed.

In addition, apply the effects of a Flashpak (p. 283, SR3) to victims looking at the blast.

Thermobaric warheads use twice their Rating against barriers. Use the Blast in a Confined Space rule (p.119, SR3) if detonated in an enclosed area.

I'd price them at Rating x 20¥ per kilo, with a SI of 2 and Legality of 3-J. Availability of 10/72 hours. Max rating of 10.

Note: An RPO-A round contains 2.1kg of thermobaric explosives. Rounds made for the RPG-7 contain about 4.3kg.
